The Wndsn Quadrant Telemeter is a low tech, naked-eye, observational instrument that allows the user to measure angular size, distance, height or depth of object, slope, altitude, or elevation via various inputs and sighting methods. In addition, the Quadrant Telemeter is a trigonometry-based, graphical, analog computer that provides built-in functions to directly process or convert the acquired values. Featured is an inclinometer as well as scales for the computation of sine, cosine, and tangent for any given angle. It is possible to solve right-angled and non-right angled triangles without the use of digital means. This manual is about the theory and practice of the instrument.

This book is a description of the tools, principles, functions, and methods which together make up the operating system of the Quadrant Telemeter and its specialized variants. It's a practical manual for the beginner, as well as a study guide and textbook for the advanced user. It includes tutorials for all functions and methods, as well as the graphically worked formulas and a number of useful reference tables.

The 5th edition expands upon the 3rd and 4th edition, now clocking in at 538 pages, 197 figures, 31 tables, 50 equations, 139 glossary entries, and 97 bibliography entries.
